Barcelona have marked 2024 down as the year that the renovation of the New Camp Nou will be completed.
While work on the Espai Barca project is moving slowly, there is nevertheless a plan in process which will begin with the demolition of the Mini Estadi in October and will take six months.

After Estadi Johan Cruyff was inaugurated in August, the stadium which was the home of Barcelona B will be torn down to make way for the new Palau Blaugrana in the same location.

Work on the New Camp Nou stadium will start in the summer of 2020 and will take four years to complete.

The board is currently waiting for the final development plan to be approved in order to immediately obtain a building license which the club estimates to receive before the end of the season.

The overall cost of the project has gone up from the initial budget which was set at 600 million euros to 685 million euros, while the club has put negotiations over the naming rights of the new stadium on hold until it has been completed, as they believe that they can attract a better deal that way.

Barcelona have sought to take various matters into account, particularly the environment, with 80 percent of the materials from the Mini Estadi being recycled.
